HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 069-2020RESOLUTION NO. 06 9- 2 U 2 O X-RefgyLO&,.p6l A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT PRECAST CONCRETE WALL SECTIONS CANNOT BE REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED $40,000. WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Department needs to replace several precast concrete wall panels in the area of 1600 block of Ashe Road, north of Club View Drive in Bakersfield, California 93309; and WHEREAS, StructureCast possesses unique molds exclusively for their use to manufacture these wall panels; and WHEREAS, the City must replace deteriorated or damaged wall sections with panels to match existing wall sections; and WHEREAS, StructureCast, originally provided the concrete wall panels and can replicate replacement wall panels; and WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Director has determined and has recommended the Council find that the purchase of precast concrete wall panels can only be reasonably obtained from one vendor, StructureCast, because of the exclusive molds and the ability to match the existing wall sections, and has recommended that this Council authorize dispensing with bidding requirements in accordance with subsection D.2 of Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference. 2. The Council hereby finds that the purchase of precast concrete wall panels to be used for replacement can only be reasonably obtained from one vendor, StructureCast, for the reasons set forth above. 3.
