AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING WARD BOUNDARIES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 4.04.010 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.010 Boundaries of the first ward. The boundaries
of the First Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at
the intersection of the centerline of California Avenue
with the west right-of-way line of Union Avenue;
THENCE northerly along the west line of Union Avenue to
the north right-of-way line of California Avenue;
THENCE easterly along the north right-of-way line of
California Avenue to the centerline of Union Avenue;
THENCE northerly along the centerline of Union Avenue to
the centerline of the A.T.&S.F. Railroad;

point on the City Limit line;

State Route 99 Freeway (Bakersfield Bypass), said point
also being a point on the north line of Tract 3497;
THENCE northerly along the last-named west right-of-way
line to the centerline of Planz Road;
THENCE westerly along the centerline of Planz Road to
intersect the centerline of South Real Road;
THENCE northerly along the centerline of South Real Road

SECTION 8.
The City Limit Line referenced in the descriptions of
the various ward boundaries shall be that corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield as of the effective date of this
ordinance.

SECTION 9.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on June 22, 1988 , by the
