Homeless Collaborative is proposing a temporary conditional use permit 20-1 T
for "Project Room.key" (17.64.020.3). The project provides temporary I
housing of persons experiencing homelessness who are deemed high-risk ,
.of contracting COVID-19 to shelter-in-place at an existing motel

The public hearing was opened.. Staff presentation was given. Staff noted a
requested revision to Condition S. i

No public comments`were received in opposition. l
Comments were received in support from Ana Laven, project applicant
from the Bakersfield-Kern Regional Homeless Collaborative, Deborah .! .
Johnson of the California Veterans Assistance Foundation, Stephen Pelx of j
the .Housing Authority of the County of Kern, and Kristin Webber from Kaiser ; 1
Permanente. A letter in support was also received from Heather Kimmel E
from the Housing Authority of the County of Kern. f j
Public Hearing closed. Board Members deliberated. E

Motion by Member Kitchen to approve. Item 5.a. with revisions to. Condition 3
5 as shown below:
