A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY
EXEMPT SURPLUS LAND AND SURPLUS TO THE
NEEDS OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING
THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE ITS SALE
WHEREAS, the City owns a fee simple interest in property located at the
NEC of Baker Street and Kentucky Street ("Property"); and,
WHEREAS, City desires to sell the property located at 1001 Baker Street
(APN 014-280-22) to a qualified affordable; housing developer to develop the
property; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Planning Department found the sale of this
property to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan
pursuant to Government Code Section 65402; and
WHEREAS, the Property is exempt surplus land because staff intends to
initiate a competitive bid process consistent with Government Code Section
54221(f) (F) (1) to sell the Property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct, and incorporated
herein.
2. The City Council finds and declares that the Property is exempt surplus
land because staff intends to an initiafe a competitive bid process in
accordance with Government Code Section 54221(f) (F) (1) to sell the Property.
3. The Property is hereby declared surplus to the City's needs, and the
Finance Director is authorized to begin the c;`ompetitive bid process to dispose of
the property:
