HomeMy WebLinkAboutNovember 5, 2002MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING SITE PLAN REVIEW HEARING OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD Held Tuesday, November 5, 2002, 4:00 p.m., Development Services Building, 1st Floor Conference Room # 107, 1715 Chester Avenue, Bakersfield, California. 1. ROLL CALL Director: JACK HARDISTY Staff: JIM EGGERT The Director read the Notice of Right to Appeal as set forth on the agenda. 2. PUBLIC STATEMENTS None 3. APPROVE MINUTES The Director approved the minutes of the meeting held October 22, 2002. 4. PUBLIC HEARINGS 4.A. FILE NO. 02-1061 - THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD HAS REQUESTED A SITE PLAN REVIEW FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN AQUATICS/ICE CENTER CONSISTING OF A 50-METER POOL WITH SLIDES~ AND A 40~500 SQUARE FOOT BUILDING WITH AN ICE RINK ENCOMPASSING APPROXIMATELY 2.5+ ACRES LOCATED AT 1325 Q STREET. The Director, Mr. Hardisty, opened the public hearing for comments on the proposal. Mr Eggert noted that mitigation measures were carried over to this project that had been required for the stadium project since the FEIR was to be the environmental document deemed adequate for this proposal. He also summarized the shared parking resources with Centennial Garden and that there will have to be recorded a document that permits shared use and access. Stan Ford, Recreation and Parks Director, was available to answer any questions. In addition, Bill Melby and Bob Jenson with Melby-Ordiz Architects were available. No other comments were made regarding the proposal. Therefore, the Director found that the FEIR for the stadium project, including all previous findings and mitigation, was adequate for this proposal and approved the site plan.
