A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY
EXEMPT SURPLUS LAND AND SURPLUS TO THE
NEEDS OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING
THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE ITS SALE
WHEREAS, the City purchased fee simple interest in the seven properties
located at 4200 Hillsborough Drive (APN 020-482-11), 4204 Hillsborough Drive
(APN 020-482-12), 4208 Hillsborough Drive (APN 020-482-13), 4212 Hillsborough
Dive (APN 020-482-14), 4216 Hillsborough (APN 020-482-15), 4300 Hillsborough
Drive (APN 020-482-16), and 4304 Hillsborough Drive (APN 020-482-17) as part of
the Centennial Corridor project; and
WHEREAS, the City has completed the Soundwall improvements on each
of these parcels which has created seven remnant parcels ("Properties") more
particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A" and depicted in the attached
Exhibit "B"; and
WHEREAS, City desires to sell each of the remnant Properties; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Planning Department found the sale of the
properties to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan
pursuant to Government Code Section 65402; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 54221(f) (1) (B) (i), the
Properties are exempt surplus land as each individual remnant parcel is less than
5,000 square feet in area; and
WHEREAS, Bakersfield Municipal Code 3.20.125 authorizes the negotiated
sale of City property deemed to be "surplus".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct, and incorporated
herein.
2. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54221(f) (1) (B) (i), the Properties
are "Exempt Surplus" land.

3. The Properties are hereby declared surplus to the City's needs, and the
Finance Director is authorized to negotiate its sale.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof
held on DEC 16 1020 by the following vote:
