A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO
ORDER THE ABANDONMENT OF "K" STREET BETWEEN
17TH STREET AND 18TH STREET AND ALLEY IN
BLOCK 272 IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California,
hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1.
That it is the intention of the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, California, to order the abandonment of "K" Street
between 17th Street and 18th Street and alley in Block 272 in the
Citv of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more
particularly described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a
part hereof. The Council of said City hereby elects to proceed
under the provisions of Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the
California Streets and Highways Code ("the Public Streets,
Highways, and Service Easements Vacation Law").
For further particulars as to the proposed abandonment,
reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, City Hall, 1501 Truxtun
Avenue, Bakersfield, California.
SECTION 2.
- That the hour of 7:00 P.M. on October 21, 1987, in the
Council Chambers in the City .Mall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakers-
field, California, be and the same is hereby fixed as the time and
place when and where all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed abandonment may appear before the City Council and be
heard.
SECTION 3.
That the City Clerk shall cause notice of the date, hour
and place of hearing on this resolution to be published for two
successive weeks prior thereto in the Bakersfield Californian and
the Superintendent of Streets of the City of Bakersfield,
California, shall.cause "Notice of Abandonment" to be posted as
required by Section 8323 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this reso-
lution and shall cause the same to be posted on the bulletin board
at the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, in the City of Bakersfield,
California, within fifteen (15) days after its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on September 23, 1987 by
the following vote:

EXHIBIT "A"
Those three parcels of land situated in Section 31, Township 29 South, Range 27
East, M.D.M., City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more
particularly described as follows:
PARCEL 1
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 1 of Block 273 as shown on "MAP OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD" filed November 25, 1898 in the Office of the Kern County
Recorder, also being a point on the East line of "K" Street (82.5 feet wide), as
shown on said map;
Thence East along a prolongation of the North line of said Lot 1, a distance of
28.75 feet;
Thence South along a line parallel with the East line of said Lot 1, a distance
of 105.5 feet;
Thence Southwesterly, along a 45° deflection from the previous course, 14.14
feet to a point on the Easterly prolongation of the South line of said Lot 1;
Thence West along last mentioned Easterly prolongation line, 18.75 feet to the
Southeast corner of said Lot 1;
Thence North along the East line of said Lot 1, also being the West line of "K"
Street, 115.5 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
PARCEL 2
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 5 of Block 272, as shown on said "MAP OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD", also being a point on the East line of "K" Street
(82.5 feet wide);
Thence West along a prolongation of the South line of said Lot 4, a distance of
82.5 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 8 of said Block 273;
Thence North along the East line of said Lot 8, also being the West line of "K"
Street, 115.5 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot 8;
Thence East along a prolongation of the North line of said Lot 8, a distance of
53.75 feet;
Thence North along a line parallel with the East line of "K" Street, 148.5 feet
to a point on the Westerly prolongation of the North line of Lot 4 of said Block
272;
Thence East along last mentioned Westerly prolongation line, 28.75 feet to the
Northwest corner of said Lot 4, also being a point on the East line of "K"
Street;
Thence South along said East line of "K" Street, 264 feet to the POINT OF
BEGINNING.

EXCEPTING THEREFROM, as reservation of an easement for public utilities purposes
and also for public access purposes, that portion of Parcel 2 lying within a 25
foot wide strip situated 12.5 feet on either side of the center line of "K"
Street. The City of Bakersfield shall not be called upon to maintain any
improvements constructed in said easement for public access purposes.
ALSO EXCEPTING THEREFROM, as reservation of an easement for public utilities
purposes, that portion of Parcel 2 lying within a 15 foot wide strip situated
7.5 feet on either side of a 28.75 Westerly prolongation of the center line of
that alley (33 feet in width) in said Block 272.
PARCEL 3
All of that alley, being 33 feet in width, in Block 272, as shown on said "MAP OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD".
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, and reserving as an easement for public sewer line purposes,
and also for public utilities purposes, that portion of Parcel 3 lying within a
15 foot.wide strip situated 7.5 feet on either side of the center line of said
alley as.described in Parcel 3.
