A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION
FOR OPERATIONAL FUNDING FOR THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL AIRPORT UNDER THE CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE
AND RELIEF SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO
EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has submitted an application for an
allocation of funds through the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA); and
WHEREAS, the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations
Act (Public Law 116-260) (CRRSA) administered by the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) indicates that funding is tentatively available for operational
costs at the Bakersfield Municipal Airport; and
WHEREAS, this application for federal funds is the first step leading to the
issuance of a grant offer; and
WHEREAS, grant funds will be used for the operational costs of the airport; and
WHEREAS, the funding allocated for the Bakersfield Municipal Airport totals
$13,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to accept grant funds
and execute the grant agreement or any other necessary documents with the FAA
under the CRRSA Act.
