RESOLUTION OF THE BAKERSFIELD CITY COUNCIL ADOPTING A
NOTICE OF EXEMPTION TO ADD GREYHOUND LINE, INC. BUS BAYS
TO THE EXISTING AMTRAK STATION LOCATED AT 601 TRUXTUN
AVENUE, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93301 (WARD 2).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield is entering into a lease agreement between the
City of Bakersfield and Greyhound Lines, Inc, adding Greyhound Line, Inc. bus bays to
the existing Amtrak station located at 601 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301 (the
"Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Clerk of the City Council set Wednesday, March 17, 2020 at 5:15
p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, as
the time and place for the City Council to consider the proposed Notice of Exemption as
required by Government Code Section 65355; and
WHEREAS, the Notice of Exemption determined the Project to be categorically
exempt per California Code of Regulations Sections 15301 (Existing Facilities) and 15303
(New Structures); and
WHEREAS, the City Council considered all facts, testimony, and evidence
concerning the staff report, and action.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Bakersfield City Council as follows:
1. The above recitals, incorporated herein, are true and correct.
2. The Notice of Exemption for the Project is hereby adopted for the Project
located on the map as shown in Exhibit A, both of which are incorporated
herein.

Reasons why project is exempt: The Class 1 (Exsitina Facilities) and Class 3 (New Construction)
cateaorical exemptions Section 15301 and 15303 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQAi,
respectively, covers the activity because it is 1) minor alteration of existing public structures within no
expansion of the existing use and 2) the construction of a limited number of new, small facilities that does
not exceed 2,500 square feet of floor area. The activity also 3) does not involve a significant amount of
hazardous substances where all necessary public services and facilities are available and 4) the
surrounding area is not environmentally sensitive.
