A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT 6' x 10'
GARDENING TRAILERS CANNOT BE
REASONABLY OBTAINED THROUGH THE
USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES AND
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO
DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR AND
PURCHASE GARDENING TRAILERS FROM
BROCK'S TRAILERS, INC., NOT TO EXCEED
$55,000.
WHEREAS, The Fleet Services Division has budgeted funding for the
replacement of six utility body (gardening) trailers for the Recreation and Parks
Department; and
WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for the purchase of 6' x 10' gardening trailers
and no bids were received; and
WHEREAS, Municipal code section 3.20.060 D.3 states in the instance of no
bids received, by adoption of a resolution, equipment or materials may be
purchased on the open market; and
WHEREAS, staff has located suitable gardening trailers at Brock's Trailers, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The trailers can be reasonably obtained from one vendor because
of the need to purchase gardening trailers for the Recreation and Parks
Department.
3. The Finance Director is authorized to dispense with bidding in
accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
4. The expenditure of funds for said work, supplies, equipment or
material shall not exceed Fifty Five Thousand Dollars ($55,000).
