AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
BAKERSFIELD AFtENDING SECTION 17.06.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.06 (ZONING ~4AP) OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
REGARDING PREZONING OF PROPERTY KNOWN AS
MT. VERNON NO. 4 ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission held hearings on a request
by the City of Bakersfield to zone certain property now being
annexed to said City and made several general and specific find-
ings of fact which warranted a negative declaration of environ-
mental impact; and
WHEREAS, there appears to be no substantial detrimental
environmental impact which could result from this zoning action;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed zoning substantially conforms to
the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due con-
sideration of the motion and recommendation of the Planning
Commission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the Planning Commission hearing, that said zoning should be
authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
A. All the foregoing recitals are found to be true and
correct.
B. The Negative Declaration for this zoning action is
hereby approved and adopted.
C. That Section 17.06.020 of Chapter 17.06 (Zoning Map)
of the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same
is hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to
include those certain properties in the County of Kern located
contiguous to the boundary of the City of Bakersfield and located
south of Brundage Lane, north of the south right-of-way line of
Highway 58 and vest of Mt. Vernon Avenue and contiguous to the
boundary of the City of Bakersfield, ~nown as the ~T. VERNON
NO. 4 ANNEXATION, upon the annexation of said property to the City
of Bakersfield, the boundaries of ~hich property are shown on the
map hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance, and are
more specifically described as follows:
TO 7.2 (SERVICE INDUSTRIAL) ZONING
CONSISTENT WITH THE CASA LOMA SPECIFIC
PLAN: - -
A parcel of land situated in the north-
east quarter of Section 4 of Township
30 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B.&M.,
County of Kern, State of California,
more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection
of the East right-of-way line of
Washington Street (Co. Rd. No. 2927)
and the South right-of-way line of
State Freeway 58 also being an angle
point on the existing corporate bound-
ary of the City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (1) North 00°06'16" West, 265.08
feet to the point of intersection of
the North right-of-way line State
Freeway 58 and the East right of way
line of Washington Street (Co. Rd. No.
2927);
THENCE (2) North 01034'59" West, along
said East right-of-way line of
Washington Street, 416.46 feet to an
angle point thereon;
THENCE (3) North 44°16'38" East, along
said East right-of-way line, 27.86 feet
to a point on the South line of the
North 30.00 feet of said northeast
quarter of Section 4 also being a point
on the existing corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (4) easterly, southerly and
~esterly along last named corporate
boundary to the point of beginning.
Containing 40.32 acres (+) gross
This ordinance shall become effective upon the annexation
of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
