HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 159-2021RESOLUTION NO. 159-2 02 1 A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE ITS SALE WHEREAS, the City acquired a fee simple interest in the property located at the southwest corner of Stine Road and McCutchen Road, Bakersfield, CA as part of Road Widening Project; and, WHEREAS, the City has completed the construction of the Road Widening Project and determined that a portion of that property more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A" and depicted in the attached Exhibit "B" is now surplus to its needs; and, WHEREAS, City desires to sell the remnant Property ; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 54220, the Property is surplus land; and WHEREAS, Bakersfield Municipal Code 3.20.125 authorizes the sale of City property deemed to be "surplus"; and WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Planning Department found the sale of this property to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan pursuant to Government Code Section 65402. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct, and incorporated herein. 2. Real Property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto is hereby declared surplus to the City's needs and the Finance Director is authorized to negotiate its sale in accordance with Government Code Sections 54220-54234.
