AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SUBSECTION A. OF
SECTION 2.52.020 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNI-
CIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE AUDITORIUM
COMMITTEE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsection A. of Section 2.52.020 of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.52.020 Auditorium committee - Creation - Duties.
A. Creation.
1. There is created an auditorium committee consist-
ing of seven members, one resident from each ward, who shall be
nominated by councilmembers for their respective wards and
appointed by the city council. Each member appointed shall serve
in office for a term of four years.
2. Committee members serving in office as of the
effective date of the May 1989 amendment to this section shall
serve out the terms to which they were appointed. Upon the expi-
ration of each member's term, the councilmember from that commit-
tee member's ward may nominate a committee member for that ward,
to be appoinsted by the City Council.
3. For the committee positions of members both
residing in Ward 3, as of the effective date of the May 1989
amendment to this section, the position of the member whose term
expires first shall be filled by appointment of a resident of Ward.
1. For the committee position vacant as of the effective date of
the May 1989 amendment to this section, the position shall be
filled by appointment of a resident of Ward 4.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on April 12. 1989 , by the
