AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ADDING CHAPTER 12.20.035 TO THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
ENCROACHMENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
12.20.035 City council approval.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this Chapter,
the City Engineer shall not grant an encroachment permit for any
substantial at or above grade portion of any building (not
including any canopy or architectural feature on a surface of any
building), unless the application has been referred to and
approved by the City Council.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on April 26, 1989 , by the
