Home My WebLink AboutRES NO 203-2021RESOLUTION NO_ 9 A Z- a 0 21 - RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE GREASE STORAGE TANK REQUIRED FOR COMMERCIAL GREASE STORAGE LOCATED AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT NO_ 2 CANNOT BE REASONABLY I>BTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING PROCEDURES BECAUSE OF THE NECESSITY TO INTEGRATE WITH EXISTING EQUIPMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED $75,000_ WHEREAS, the Wastewater C)Msion operates and maintains two grease receiving stations that receive grease from permitted commercial haulers; and WHEREAS, each station hos one grease storage tank that is used to store grease and maintain grease at a required temperature: and WHEREAS_ the existing grease storage tank located at Wastewater Treatment Plant No_ 2 (Plant 2) has experienced critical failure and is in need of replacement: and WHEREAS, the existing grease storage tank at Plant 2 manufactured by Poly Processing Company; and WHEREAS, Core -Rasion Products is the sole representative for Poly Processing Company storage tanks, os stated in the letter, attached hereto os Exhibit A and incorporated by reference herein; and WHEREAS, Core -Rasion Products has submitted o quote for o like for like replacement of the grease storage tank, attached hereto as Exhibit B and incorporated by reference herein; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Director recommends the Council find the purchase of the grease storage tank at Plant 2 con only be reasonably obtained from Core -Rasion Products, because of the need to integrate with existing equipment and infrastructure, and recommend the Council dispense with bidding requirements, in coccordance with subsection E)_2 of Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code_ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield os follows: 1 _ The above recitals ore true and correct and incorporated herein by reference_ 2- Based on the facts included in the above recitals, the purchase of the required grease storage tank can only be reasonably obtained from Core -Rasion OA KFS S:\Plant 2\Contracts\Core-Rasion Products\Council Meeting 11-3-202'1\Resolution.docx �F �� Page 1 of 2 - ! `�ORIGINAA Products, because of the need to integrate with existing equipment and infrastructure. 3.
