A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT THE RECREATION AND
PARKS DEPARTMENT MASTER PLAN UPDATE WILL BE BEST
PERFORMED BY THE ORIGINAL VENDOR OF THE EXISTING
PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO
DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR, NOT TO EXCEED
5522, 085.
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks 1Depcirtment has a need to update the
existing master plan; and
WHEREAS, MIG, Inc_ created the existing master plan that was accepted by
Council on January 30, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the CITY now desires to update the existing master plan for the
Recreation and Parks department; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks director has determined and hos
recommended the Council find that the master pion update will be best
conducted by MIG, Inc., and hos recommended that this Council authorize
dispensing with bidding requirements in accordance with subsection (ED) (2) of
Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1 _ The above recitals ore true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. The Council hereby finds that the Recreation and Parks [Department
master plan update can only be reasonably obtained from the original vendor,
MIG, Inc., for the reasons set forth above_
3. The Finance [Director is authorized to dispense with bidding therefore
in accordance with Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code and to
cowcord a design consultants agreement to MIG, Inc. for a not to exceed amount
of $522,085.

1 HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
