The meeting was called to order 4:04 p.m.
Present: Commissioners Dewey, Young, Miranda, Garza, Hernandez, Merino
Alternates Commissioners Yum, Salinas
Absent: Altemate Commissioners Dison, Banuelos

3. SUMMARY REPORT
a. Adoption of the August 5, 2019 Youth Commission Minutes
Motion by Commissioner Miranda Regular Member Ward 4 to
Approve.
Seconded by Commissioner Hernandez Regular Member Ward 6.
Motion Passed.
4. NEW BUSINESS
a. Vote and swearing in of Youth Commission Chairperson and Vice -
Chairperson
Staff recommends voting and swearing in of Youth Commission Chairperson
And Vice -Chairperson.
Motion by Commissioner Miranda Regular Member Ward 4, Nominated
Self for Chair.
Motion by Commissioner Hernandez Regular Member Ward 6,
Nominated Self for Chair.
Motion Approved Commissioner Miranda as Chair.
Motion by Commissioner Hernandez Regular Member Ward 6,
Self for Vice -Chair.
Motion by Commissioner Young Regular Member Ward 3, Nominated
Self for Vice -Chair.
Motion Approved Commissioner Young as Vice -Chair.
b. Introduction of the new City of Bakersfield Brand
Joseph Conroy, Public Information Officer made comments.
