CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING ALL PUBLIC UTILITY STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS. CONTRACTOR WILL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES TO START ELECTRICAL AND WATER SERVICE IN 11ME FOR CONSTRUCTION. 3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING ALL APPROPRIATE PUBLIC U11UTY STANDARDS, SPECIFICATIONS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION. 4. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT, (661) 326-3866, AND PUBLIC WORKS, (661) 326-3049 FOR .AN ON -SITE PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING. 5. CONTRACTOR WILL COORDINATE CONSTRUCTION WITH THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE SO THAT INSPECTIONS CAN BE MADE AT CRITICAL CONSTRUCTION PERIODS BUT iN NO CASE LESS THAN: 1) AT THE START OF LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION 2 IRRIGATION PERFORMANCE TEST AND HEAD COVERAGE 3 PLANT MATERIALS AND PLACEMENT OF PLANT MATERIALS, GUYING & STAKING PROCEDURES 4 AT THE END OF CONSTRUCTION BUT PRIOR TO START OF POST-INSTALLA1ION MAINTENANCE, AND 5 AT THE END OF POST -INSTALLATION MAINTENANCE PERIOD FOR WRITTEN (OWNER'S) ACCEPTANCE. 6. CONTRACTOR WILL PERFORM MAINTENANCE AS IDENTIFIED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS. ALL COST INCURRED UNTIL THIS TIME WILL BE AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTRACTOR. 7. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING FiNAL WRITTEN ACCEPTANCE BY CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE FOR THIS WORK. IN NO CASE WILL THE CONTRACTOR BE RELEASED FROM MAINTENANCE OF THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM OR MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT OF DEAD, DYING, DAMAGED, OR OTHERWISE UNSUITABLE PLANT MATERIAL UNTIL THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE, IN WRITING, ACCEPTS THiS WORK. 8. CONTRACTOR WILL FIELD VERIFY FINISHED GRAPES AND VERIFY THAT THERE IS POSITIVE SURFACE DRAINAGE IN ALL PLANTERS, TURF AREAS AND AWAY FROM ALL PLANTING HOLES. IF POSITIVE DRAINAGE DOES NOT EXiST N011FY CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO PROCEEDING FOR WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION AND INSTRUCTIONS TO PROCEED. 9. CONTRACTOR SHALL DEMONSTRATE TO CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF SPECIFIED SOIL AMENDMENTS SEE SPECIFICATIONS WHETHER A SOILS TEST IS REQUIRED OR NOT. 10. QUANTITIES ARE CiTY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT ESTIMATE ONLY. CONTRACTOR SHALL -BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ALL MATERIAL APPEARING ON PLAN. 11. DO NOT WILLFULLY PROCEED WITH CONSTRUCTION AS DESIGNED WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS THAT UNKNOWN OBSTRUCTIONS AND/OR GRADE DIFFERENCES EXIST THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN KNOWN DURING DESIGN. SUCH CONDITION SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED IN WRITING TO THE ATTEN11ON OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL NECESSARY REVISIONS DUE TO FAILURE TO GIVE SUCH NOTIFICATION. 12. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COORDINATION WITH SUBCONTRACTORS AS REQUIRED TO ACCOMPLISH PLANTING OPERATIONS. 13. ALL PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. 14. FINAL LOCATION OF ALL PLANT MATERIALS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE CiTY OF BAKERSFiELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. 15. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE 48 HOURS PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF WORK TO COORDINATE PROJECT OBSERVATION SCHEDULES. 16. SEE DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR STAKING METHOD, PLANT PiT DIMENSIONS AND BACK FILL REQUIREMENTS. 17. iF CONFLICTS ARISE BETWEEN SIZE OF AREAS AND PLANS, CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT FOR RESOLUTION, FAILURE TO MAKE SUCH CONFLICTS KNOWN TO THE CiTY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT WILL RESULT IN CONTRACTOR'S LIABILITY TO RELOCATE THE MATERIALS. 18. NO PLANTING SHALL BE PLANTED UNTIL INSTALLATION OF THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS COMPLETED. FINAL GRADES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED, PLANTING AREAS HAVE BEEN PROPERLY GRADED AND SOIL PREPARED, AND THE WORK APPROVED BY THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT OR OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE. 19. PROVIDE ROOT BARRIER FOR TREES WITHIN 5' OF ANY EXISTING OR PROPOSED PAVING OR STRUCTURE. 20. CITY OF BAKERSFIELD STANDARDS DETAILS, INCLUDED WITH THIS DRAWING SET, TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL OTHER SPECIFICATIONS OR DETAILS. 21. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL A 6" CONCRETE MOWCURB AS PER CITY OF BAKERSFIELD STANDARDS AT EACH PHASE LINE AND LIMiT OF CONSTRUC11ON LINE. 22. EXISTING PLANT MATERIAL SHOWN IS FOR REFERENCE ONLY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANT MATERIAL iN CONFLICT WITH NEW CONDITION REGARDING; REMOVAL, RELOCATION, MAINTENANCE DURING CONSTRUCTION IN ORDER TO MEET THE INTENT OF THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS. 23. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY BARRICADES IN ORDER TO FILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF EXISTING PLANTING PROTECTION PER SPECIFICATION. 24. EXISTING PLANT MATERIAL SHOWN ON PLANS IS DIAGRAMMATIC. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS AT THE SITE TO FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF PRIOR TO START OF WORK. 25. ALL TREES UNDER UTILITY LINES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE PER CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT. 26. CONTRACTOR SHALL DEMONSTRATE TO OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF SPECIFIED SOIL AMENDMENTS WHETHER A SOILS TEST IS REQUIRED OR NOT. 27. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF EXISTING LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION SYSTEM DURING CONSTRUCTION. 28. EXISTING IRRIGATION SYSTEM SHALL REMAIN OPERATIONAL DURING CONSTRUCTION. 29. UNIFORM DEVELOPMENT iS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT. SHOULD ANY PORTION OF ANY PHASE OR SUBSEQUENT PHASES BE CONSTRUCTED AT DIFFERENT INTERVALS WHERE THE POINTS OF CONNECTIONS ARE LOCATED IN AN AREA OTHER THAN THE CURRENT PROJECT AREA, THE DEVELOPER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL INCURRED COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ATTACHED AREAS UNTIL THE PROJECTS MAINTENANCE PERIOD HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND A WRITTEN FINAL ACCEPTANCE FROM THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECREATION AND PARKS DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED. 30. PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF ANY SIGNAGE, SUBDIVIDER SHALL SUBMIT TWO COPIES OF SUBDIVISION IDENTIFICATION SIGN PLANS TO THE BUILDING DIRECTOR FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PURSUANT TD BMC SECTION 17.60.110(N). ONE COPY OF THE SIGNED PLAN SHALL ALSO BE SUBMITTED TO THE PARKS DIVISION FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL SIGN PLANS SHALL INCLUDE COPY, DIMENSIONS, COLOR MATERIALS, LIGHTING, ANCHORAGE & LOCATION OF SIGN(S).
