RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION DIVISION OF AERONAUTICS FOR
FUNDING OF AN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AT THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL AIRPORT UNDER AIRPORT
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT NO.3-06-0323-025-
2022 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has applied for an allocation of funds
through the California Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics (Cal -
Trans); and
WHEREAS, the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) approved by Cal -Trans
indicates that funding is tentatively available for an improvement project at the
Bakersfield Municipal Airport pursuant to AIP FAA Project No. 3-06-0323-025-2022;
and
WHEREAS, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funds will provide 90% of
funding for project costs with Cal -Trans funds providing 4.5%of the 10%local match
requirement and general aviation funds providing the remaining 5.5%; and
WHEREAS, this allocation of funds is the first step leading to the issuance of a
grant offer; and
WHEREAS, grant funds will be used for the Rehabilitate Runway 16/34 and
Taxiway A Pavement, Rehabilitate Runway MIRL Lighting and Precision Approach
Path Indicators (PAPI) for Runway 16 design project; and
WHEREAS, although the initial estimate for this project totals $346,000, the
$346,000 project estimate may need to be revised as work commences on the
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
2. Authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to accept grant funds
and execute the grant agreement or any other necessary documents with the Cal -
Trans for AIP Project No. 3-06-0323-025-2022. oFR,AK, 9,%
