AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING ·
SECTION 2.28.030 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
MEMBERSHIP OF PLANNING CO~ISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 2.28.030 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
2.28.030
Planning Commission - Creation - Members.
A. There is created a planning commission of the city
which shall consist of seven members and one alternate who shall
be appointed by the city council.
B. Members, including the alternate, shall be
appointed for a term of four years, and may be reappointed.
Members shall serve at the pleasure of the council and may be
removed at any time by the affirmative vote of five members of
the council.
C. The alternate shall participate and vote in the
place of any member who is absent or disqualified for an economic
interest in a matter before the commission.
D. The provisions of Section 2.28.070 shall apply to
the alternate and the alternate shall be compensated for
attendance at meetings as are other members of the commissien.
E. If a vacancy occurs, other than by expiration of
term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion
of the term.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with
the City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty
(30) days from and after the date of its passage.
