RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE
STREET DISTRICT NO. .S OO IN THE
CITY OF BAKFRSFIELD,7CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BF;KERSFIELD,
as follows:
That it is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Bakersfield, to order the following worl{ to be done and improve-
ment to be made in said City, to -wit:
SECTION 1.
- That a strip 21 feet wide and 10.5 feet on either side
of the center line of the alley in Block 249 from the easterly
line of M Street to the westerly line of N Street be graded and
a pavement of cement concrete five (5) inches in thickness be
laid thereon.
SECTION 2.
That the alley in Block 250 from the easterly line of
N Street to the westerly line of 0 Street and for the full width
thereof be graded and a pavement of cement concrete five (5)
inches in thickness be laid thereon.
SECTION 3.
That cement concrete sidewalk be constructed where
shown on the plan for said work at the termination of the alley
in Block 250 in N Street and 0 Street.
SECTION 4.
That an eight (8) inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed
sewer pipe be constructed as shown on the plan and profile for
said work along the center line of the alley in Block 250 from
the westerly line of 0 Street to a point 244 feet westerly thereof.
SECTION 5.
That lateral sewers of six (6) inch vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe be constructed as shown on the plan for said
work between the alley property lines of Block 250 and the eight
(8) inch sewer as described in Section 4.

SECTION 6.
That lateral sewers of four (4) inch vitrified salt
sewer
glazed/pipe be constructed as shown on the plan for said work
between the alley property lines of Block 249 and the existing
six (6) inch sewer along the center line of said alley.
The blocks hereinabove mentioned are as shown on
"Map of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California" filed
in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, November
25th, 1898.
All of the above work shall be done to such grades
as have been established by Ordinance 175 of the City of Bakers-
field, passed on the 20th day of February, 1911.
SECTION 7.
All of said work and improvement is to be done in accord-
ance with the plan and specifications heretof ore and on the ZS

day of � 1929, adopted by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, said plan being entitled "PLAN FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
OF STREET DISTRICT NO. -!�qO " and said specifications being en-
titled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE IMPROVFl41ENT OF STREET DISTRICT
and which said plan and specifications are on file
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and
are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and por-
tion hereof.
AND ZHEREAS, said contemplated work and improvement in
the opinion of the said City Council is of more than local or
ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the costs and
expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district,
which district said City Council hereby declares to be the district
benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay
the costs and expenses thereof, and which .district is bounded and
described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the easterly line of M Street
where the same is intersected by the northerly line of 18th Street;
thence easterly along the northerly line of 18th Street to the

easterly line of 0 Street; thence northerly along the easterly
line of 0 Street to the southerly_ line of 19th Street; thence
westerly along the southerly line of 19th Street to the easterly
line of M Street; thence southerly along the easterly line of M
Street to the point of beginning.
All in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State
of California.
All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pur-
suance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California des-
ignated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7th, 1911, and
all acts amendatory thereof.
Notice is hereby given that on Nonday, the /C�day of
1929. at 8 o'clock P. M. at a regular meeting
of the said City Council in the Council Chamber of said City Coun-
cil in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all per-
sons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may
appear before said City Council and show cause shy said proposed
improvement should not be carried out in accordance with said
Resolution.
The City Olerk of said City shall cause this Resolution
Of Intention to be published twice in the The Daily Report, a
daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of
Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City
Council.
The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield
shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said
contemplated work and improvement and along the open streets
within said district notice of the passage of this Resolution af
Intention in the manner and form required by law.

said first party in the performance of said work, except in case of extraordinary emergency caused by fire, flood or danger to

each laborer, workman or mechanic employed in the execution of this contract by him, or by any sub -contractor under him, I
day during which such laborer, workman or mechanic is required or permitted to labor more than eight hours in violation
of Section 653-C of the Penal Code of the State of California or Section 143 of the Charter of the City of Bakersfield.
And it is further stipulated and agreed that the minimum compensation to be paid for labor upon all work performe-

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the
25th day of February, 1929, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 590
to order the work described therein to be done and improvement to be
made in said City; and

published twice immediately after the passage of said Resolution,
as recuired by law, in the The Daily Report, a daily newspa,er pub-

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Bakersfield, on February 25th,
1929, passed a Resolution of Intention No. 590, to order the following work to he done and im-
provement to he made in said City, to -wit:
SECTION 1.
That a strip 21 feet wide and 10.5
feet on either side of the center line
of the alley in Block 249 from the
easterly line of M Street to the west-
erly line of N Street be graded and a
pavement of cement concrete five (5)
inches in thickness be laid thereon.
SECTION 2.
That the alley in Block 250 from
the easterly line of N Street to the
westerly line of O Street and for the
full width thereof be graded and a
pavement of cement concrete five (5)
inches in thickness be laid thereon.
SECTION 3.
That cement concrete sidewalk be
constructed where shown on the plan
for said work at the termination of the
alley in Block 250 in N Street and O
:street.
SECTION 4.
That an eight (8) inch sewer of vit-
rified salt glazed sewer pipe be con-
structed as shown on the plan and
profile for said work along the center
line of the . alley in Block 250 from
the westerly line of O Street to a point
244 feet westerly thereof.
SECTION 5.
That lateral sewers of six (6) inch
vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe be con-
structed as shown on the plan for said
work between the alley property lines
of Block 250 and the eight (8) inch
sewer as described in Section 4.
SECTION 6.
That lateral sewers of four (4) inch
vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe be con•
structed as shown on the plan for said
work between the alley property lines
of Block 249 and the existing six (6)
inch sewer along the center line of
said alley.
The blocks hereinabove mentioned
are as shown on "Map of the City of
Bakersfield, Kern County, California"
filed in the office of the County Rec-
order of Kern County, November 25th,
1898.
All of the above work shall be done
to such grades as have been estab-
lished by Ordinance No. 175 of the
City of Bakersfield, passed on the
20th day of February, 1911.

and specifications are on file in the
office of the -City Clerk of the City of
Bakersfield, and are hereby referred
to and by such reference made a part
and portion hereof, and in this connec-
tion the said plan and specifications
also show the exact location of the
aforesaid work and improvement.
AND WHEREAS, said contemplated
work and improvement in the opinion
of the said City Council is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit,

said Council hereby makes the costs
and expenses of said work and im-
provement chargeable upon a district,
which district said City Council here-
by declares to be the district benefited
by said work and improvement and to
be assessed to pay the costs and ex-
penses thereof, and which said district
is bounded and described in Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 590, passed and
adopted by said City Council on the
25th day of February, 1929, and on
file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Bakersfield.
All of the herein proposed work
shall be done in pursuance of an Act
of the Legislature of the State of Cali-
fornia, designated the "Improvement
Act of 1911," approved April 7th, 1911,
and all acts amendatory thereof.
Notice is hereby given that on Mon-
day, the 18th day of March, 1929, at
8 o'clock P. M. at a regular meeting
of the said City Council in the Council
Chamber of said City Council in the
City Hall of the City of Bakersfield,
any and all persons having any objec-
tions to the proposed work or improve-
ment may appear before said City
Council and show cause why said pro-
posed improvement should not be car-
ried out in accordance with said Reso-
lution.
For further particulars reference is
hereby made to said Resolution of In-
tention No. 590 on file with the City
Clerk.

FOR PROPOSED IMIPROVEMENTS IN STREET DISTRICT
NO. Sao IN THE CITY OF BAKERSrFIELD, CAL-

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL uF THE CITY OF BAKERS -
FIELD, as follows:
That the plan and specifications for the following
work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit:
SECTION 1.
That a strip 21 feet wide and 10.5 feet on either
side of the center line of the alley in Block 249, from the
easterly line of Li Street to the westerly line of N Street, be
graded and a pavement of cement concrete five (5) inches in
thickness be laid thereon.
SECTION 2.
That the alley in Block 250 from the easterly line of
N Street to the westerly line of 0 Street and for the full width
thereof be graded and a pavement of cement concrete five (5)
inches in thickness be laid thereon.
SECTION 3.
That cement concrete sidewalk be constructed where
shown on the plan for said work at the termination of the alley
in Block 250 in N Street and 0 Street.
SECTION 4.
That an eight (8) inch sewer of vitrified salt glazed
sewer, pipe be constructed as shown on the plan and profile for
said work along the center line of the alley in Block 250 from
the westerly line of 0 Street to a point 244 feet westerly there-
of.
SECTION 5.
That lateral sewers of six (6) inch vitrified salt
glazed sewer pipe be constructed as shown on the plan for said
