HomeMy WebLinkAboutROI NO 588RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. - f RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CLOSE A CERTAIN PORTION OF FRTYONT STREET IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the closing of the following described portion of Fremont Street; and that the land included within the boundaries of such portion as described, be abandoned: Beginning at a point in the Southerly line of Block 120, Kern, as said Block is shown on "Map of Bakersfield, Kern County, California, showing East Bakersfield, formerly Sumner" filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, January 12th, 1889, 275 feet Westerly from the !Jesterly line of Sonora Street; thence Southerly and parallel with the Westerly line of Sonora Street 80 feet; thence c'esterly and parallel with the Southerly line of Block 120, Kern, 5 feet; thence Northerly and parallel with the Westerly line of Sonora Street 80 feet; thence Fasterlr along the Southerly line of Block 120, Kern, 5 feet to the point of be- ginning. All of the herein proposed work and improvement shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled "AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LAYING OUT, OPENING, EXTENDING, WIDEi`�ING, WRAIGHTEATUNG OR CLOSING UP, IN AT-OLE OR IN PART ANY STREET, SQUARE, LANE, ALLEY, COURT OR PLACE '4'ITHIN IJUNICI- PALITIES, AND TO CONDEMN AND ACQUIRE ANY AND ALL LAND NECESSARY OR CONVENIENT FOR THAT PURPOSE", approved March 6th, 1889, and the sev- eral acts amendatory thereof or supplemental thereto. The The Daily Report is hereby designated as the daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City in which the Street Superintendent's notice -of the passage of this Resolution shall be published. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the loth day of December, 1928, pass its Resolution of Intention No. 588, to order the following work to be done, to -wit: That the following described portion of Fremont Street be closed and the lands included.within the boundaries of such portion as described, be abandoned: Beginning at a point in the southerly line of Block 120, Kern; as said Block is shown on "Map of Bakersfield, Kern County, California, showing East Bakersfield, formerly Sumner" filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, January 12th, 1889, 275 feet westerly from the westerly line of Sonora Street; thence southerly and parallel with the westerly line of Sonora Street 80 feet; thence westerly and parallel with the southerly line of Block 120, Kern, 5 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the westerly line of Sonora Street 80 feet; thence easterly along the southerly line of Block 120, Kern, 5 feet to the point of beginning. WHERREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield did thereupon cause notices of the passage of said Resolution to be posted and published for ten (10) days in the manner as required by late; and WHEREAS, no objections have been filed against said work and improvement, and more than ten (10) days have elapsed after the expiration of the time of publication of said notices of the passage of said Resolution, and the Council of the City of Bak- ersfield has acquired jurisdiction to order said work as proposed in said Resolution to be done; NO!ffi, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that said work and improvement be done as aforesaid and as specifically described in said Resolution of Intention No. 588, and that said portion of Fremont Street, as said portion Of Fremont Street is shown on "Map of Bakersfield, Kern County, California, showing East Bakers- field, formerly Sumner" filed in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, January 12th, 1889, be and the same is hereby closed.
