BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TIM CITY OF BU=SFIELD, as follows: That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, to order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in the said City, to -wit: To construct sanitary sewer of six (6) inch vitrified salt glazed sewer pipe on the following described line: From the existing six (6) inch sewer in Brown Street and Quincy Street intersection, said sewer being on the center line of said Brown Street and 17. feet southerly from the northerly, line of Quincy Street, northerly along said center line of said Brown Street to the center line of alley running easterly and westerly through Blocks 148 and 149 City of Bakersfield formerly Sumner, and continuing easterly along the center line of the alley in said Block 149 to the easterly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield. The Blocks herein mentioned are as shown on the "Map of Bakersfield, Kern County, California,, showing East Bakersfield, formerly Sumner", filed January 12, 1898 in Book 1 of maps at Pages 15 and 16. 3ECTION 2. To construct manholes and lampholes at certain points as shown on the plan for said work and to place "Y" branches in said sewer at each lot and parcel of land in the district fronting on the sewer as shown on the plan for said work and improvement. The exact location of the "Y" branctes to be designated b v the City Engineer. All of said work and improvement is to be done in accordance with the plan and specifications heretofore and on the ;t4-zk day of �9y(�5 , adopted by the Council cf the City of Bakersfield, said plan being entitled "PLAN FOR TIM ILTROVEI-MIT OF SEIVER DISTRICT NO. S�3 ," and said specifications being entitled "SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE 129ROVEMENT OF SEVMR DISTRICT N0. Sg3 ," and which said plan and specifications are on file in the office of the City Clcra of the City of Bakersfield, and are hereby referred to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this connection the said plan and specifications also show the exact location of the aforesaid work and improvement. AND YEAS, said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of said City Council is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, said Council hereby makes the costs and expenses of said work and improvement chargeable upon a district, which said City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which said district is bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point in the southerly line of Quincy Street where the same is intersected by the westerly line of Brown Street and running thence northerly along the westerly line of Brown Street to its intersection with the northerly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield; thence easterly along the northerly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield to its intersection with the southerly line of Flower Street; thence easterly along the southerly line of Flower Street to its intersection with the easterly City Limits of the City of Bakersfield; thence southerly along said easterly City Limits to its intersection with the southerly line of Quincy Street; thence westerly along the southerly line of Quincy Street to the westerly line of Brown Street and the point of beginning. All of the herein proposed work shall be done in pursuance of an act of the Legislature -of the State of California, de- signated the "Improvement Act of 1911" approved April 7th, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereof. NOTICE IS IMREBv GIVEN? that on Monday, the day of at 8 o'clock P.B. at a regular meeting of the said City Council in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the City Hall of the City of Bakersfield, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement may appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed improvement should not be .carried out in accordance with said Resolution. The City Clerk of said City shall cause this Resolution of Intention, to be published twice in the Daily Report, a daily newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council. The Street Superintendent of said City of Bakersfield shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement and along all the open streets within said district, notice of the passage of this Resolution of Intention in.th a manner and form required by law.
