A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION PROPOSING
PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO.
709, LOCATED GENERALLY BETWEEN WHITE LANE AND S.
UNION AVENUE (WARD 1).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a change of organization, to
wit, the annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the hereinafter -described territory,
pursuant to Section 56654 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation territory is within and consistent with the City
of Bakersfield Sphere of Influence boundary; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield agrees to annex the territory located generally
between White Lane and S. Union Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to serve the territory upon annexation; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that it
hereby finds and determines as follows:
The above recitals, incorporated herein, are true and correct.
2. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the territory in Exhibit A and shown on map marked Exhibit B
for the project attached hereto, and made a part of this resolution as
though fully set forth herein, located generally between White Lane and S.
Union Avenue.
3. That a plan for providing services within the affected territory of the
proposed annexation, in accordance with the provisions of Section 56653
of the Government Code, is marked as Exhibit C, attached hereto and
made a part hereof as though fully set forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to wit, annexation, is made
pursuant to the Cortese -Knox -Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization
Act of 2000, and it is requested that proceedings be authorized for
annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization are that some
owners of the affected territory desire to receive municipal services from
the City of Bakersfield.
6. That the laws and regulations relating to the preparation of a notice of
exemption as set forth in the California Environmental Quality Act have
been duly followed.
7. That the territory proposed for annexation as described herein has been
determined to be inhabited pursuant to Section 56046 of the Government
Code.

8. That the territory proposed for annexation as described herein is within the
City of Bakersfield Sphere of Influence boundary.
9. That the names of the officers of the City of Bakersfield who are to be
furnished with copies of the Executive Officer's Report and who are to be
given mailed Notice of Hearing, if any, are:

ANNEXATION NO.
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of Sections 17,18,
19, and 20, Township 30 South, Range 28 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of that portion of land as described in Book 3717 at Page 532, being
the Affidavit of Completion for Annexation No.145, Pacheco No. 4, said point also being the northeast
corner of Lot 1 as shown on the "Kern County Sales Map No. 1 of Lands of J.B. Haggin", filed for record
May 3, 1889, in the office of the County Recorder;
Thence (1) westerly along the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield to the
southeast corner of that portion of land as described in Annexation No. 406 (Pacheco
No. 11), as adopted by the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County, January
251h, 2000;
Thence (2) northerly and along the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield to the
southeast corner of that portion of land as described in Annexation No.186 (Pacheco
No. 6), as adopted by the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County, February
27`h,1973;
Thence (3) northerly and along the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield to a point
on the south line of that portion of land as described in Annexation No. 89 (White Lane
No. 5), as adopted by the Local Agency Formation of Kern County, ;
Thence (4) easterly and along the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield to the
southwest corner of that portion of land as described in Annexation No. 227 (White
