City manager Christian Clegg demonstrates
the City's new homeless information hub.
This week, the City launched the Homeless Hub online dashboard to increase
accountability, track the progress of City funded homeless programming and
share resources available to City residents. The Homeless Hub dashboard is
updated weekly with data on the number of sheltered and unsheltered home-
less residents, the total number of individuals permanently housed by the
City's Brundage Lane Navigation Center (BLNC), the number of individuals en-
gaged by street outreach contractor Flood Ministries over the past week, the
number of individuals currently employed by the Open Door Network Jobs
Program and more. The new dashboard was designed by the City’s Technology
Services Department staff in coordination with the Economic and Community
Development Department and City Manager's Office.

Events
Animal Control Field Services’ low-cost drive-through vaccination clinic is set for 9
a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 10 at Silver Creek Park (7011 Harris Road).
This is the first held since May after taking a break due to the summer heat.
Pet owners are asked to take their dogs out of the vehicle so staff can safely vac-
cinate them, and dogs must remain on a leash during the clinic. Dogs can also be
microchipped free of charge with the purchase of a license.
The Bakersfield Youth Commission currently has two alternate openings re-
maining. The City Clerk’s Office is accepting applications to fill those vacancies:
• Ward 4: alternate appointment
• Ward 6: alternate appointment
All applicants must be City residents, high
school students, and have as close to a 3.0
GPA as possible. Applicants can apply in either the Ward in which they live
and/or the Ward where their high school is located.
The Development Services Department is still accepting submissions for its
General Plan Update T-shirt design contest! The deadline to submit designs is
