AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 4.04.040
AND SECTION 4.04.060 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO WARD BOUNDARIES
(WARDS 4 AND 6).
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Section 4.04.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.040 Boundaries of the fourth ward. The boundaries
of the Fourth Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at
the intersection of the east line of Section 13,
Township 29 south, Range 27 east with the City Limit
line north of the Kern River;
THENCE southerly along the last named east line to
intersect the City Limit line south of the Kern River;
THENCE southwesterly and along various courses of the
City Limit line to a point on the westerly prolongation
of the north line of 34th Street;
THENCE westerly along the prolongation of the north
right-of-way line of 34th Street to intersect the center-
line of the 20-foot north-south alley adjacent to the
west line of Block 1 of Tract 1387;
THENCE southerly along the last named centerline and the
centerline of the 20-foot alley adjacent to the west
lines of Blocks 30, 29, 16, 12 and 11 of said Tract 1387
and the southerly prolongation thereof to intersect the
centerline of 24th Street;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of 24th Street to
the centerline of Myrtle Street;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Myrtle Street
to the centerline of Truxtun Avenue;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of Truxtun Avenue
to the centerline of Pine Street;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Pine Street and
the southerly prolongation thereof to intersect the cen-
terline of California Avenue;
THENCE westerly along the centerline

east right-of-way line of Cherry Hills Drive;
THENCE southerly along the northerly prolongation of the
east right-of-way line of Cherry Hills Drive to the
south right-of-way line of Stockdale Highway;
THENCE westerly along the south right-of-way line of
Stockdale Highway to a point on the west right-of-way
line of Ashe Road, said point also being a point on the
City Limit line;
THENCE westerly and along various courses of the City
Limit line to a point on the south line of Section 33,
Township 29 south, Range 27 east;
THENCE westerly along the south line of said Section 33
and the south line of Section 32, Township 29 south,
Range 27 east, to the southwest corner of said Section
32, being also the northwest corner of Section 5,
Township 30 south, Range 27 east, M.D.B.&M.;
THENCE southerly along the west line of said Section 5
to a point on the north line of the south 1,140.44 feet
of said Section 5, said north line also being the cen-
terline of Camino Media;
THENCE easterly along the last named north line and cen-
terline of Camino Media to intersect the east line of
the Arvin-Edison Canal;
THENCE southerly along the east line of the Arvin-Edison
Canal to the centerline of Ming Avenue;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of Ming Avenue to
intersect the northerly prolongation of the west line of
Tract 3598, Unit A;
THENCE southerly along the west line of Tract 3598 Unit
A, the west lines of Tract 3598 Unit B, Tract 3757,
Tract 3728 and the southerly prolongation thereof to the
south line of Edgemont Drive;
THENCE easterly along the south line of Edgemont Drive
to the centerline of Wilson Road;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Wilson Road to
the centerline of Nutmeg Drive;
THENCE northwesterly along the centerline of Nutmeg
Drive to the centerline of Half Moon Drive;
THENCE southwesterly along the centerline of Half Moon
Drive to the centerline of Cayenne Lane;
THENCE northerly along the centerline of Cayenne Lane to
the centerline of Cumin Lane;
THENCE westerly along the centerline of Cumin Lane to
the centerline of Ginseng Lane;
THENCE northerly along the centerline of Ginseng Lane to
the centerline of Herb Way;
THENCE westerly along the centerline of Herb Way to the
centerline of Ashe Road;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Ashe Road to a
point on the north right-of-way line of the Asphalto
Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad;
THENCE westerly along the last-named north line to a
point on the east line of the west 1,270 feet of Section
16, Township 30 south, Range 27 east, M.D.B.&M. said
point being a point on the City Limit line;
THENCE westerly and along various courses of the City
Limit line to the Point of Beginning.
SECTION 2.
Section 4.04.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
4.04.060 Boundaries of the sixth ward. The boundaries
of the Sixth Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at
the intersection of the east right-of-way line of
Baldwin Road and the north right-of-way line of Ming
Avenue being 30 feet north of the centerline;
THENCE southerly along the southerly prolongation of the
east right-of-way line of Baldwin Road to the centerline
of Ming Avenue;
THENCE westerly along the centerline of Ming Avenue to
the centerline of Hughes Lane;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Hughes Lane to
the centerline of Wilson Road;
THENCE westerly along the centerline of Wilson Road to
intersect the centerline of Wible Road, said intersec-
tion being the west quarter corner of Section 12,
Township 30 south, Range 27 east;
THENCE southerly along the west line of said Section 12
to intersect the easterly prolongation of the centerline
of Kennedy Avenue;
THENCE westerly along the easterly prolongation of the
centerline of Kennedy Avenue and the centerline of
Kennedy Avenue to the centerline of South Real Road;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of South Real Road
to the centerline of Planz Road;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of Planz Road to a
point on the west right-of-way line of State Route 99
Freeway (Bakersfield Bypass);
THENCE southerly along the west right-of-way line of
Freeway 99 to the north line of Tract 3497, said point
also being a point on the City Limit line~
THENCE westerly and along various courses of the City
Limit line to a point which is the intersection of the
north right-of-way line of the Asphalto Branch of the
Southern Pacific Railroad and the east line of the west
1,270 feet of Section 16, Township 30 south, Range 27
east, M.D.B.&M.;
THENCE easterly along the last named north right-of-way
line to the centerline of Ashe Road;
THENCE north along the centerline of Ashe Road to the
centerline of Herb Way;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of Herb Way to the
centerline of Ginseng Lane;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Ginseng Lane to
the centerline of Cumin Lane;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of Cumin Lane to
the centerline of Cayenne Lane;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of Cayenne Lane to
the centerline of Half Moon Drive;
THENCE northeasterly along the centerline of Half Moon
Drive to the centerline of Nutmeg Drive;
THENCE southeasterly along the centerline of Nutmeg
Drive to the centerline of Wilson Road;
THENCE northeasterly along the centerline of Wilson Road
to the centerline of Westholme Boulevard;
THENCE northerly along the centerline of Westholme
Boulevard to the centerline of Ming Avenue;
THENCE easterly along the centerline of Ming Avenue to
the centerline of New Stine Road;
THENCE southerly along the centerline of New Stine Road
to the westerly prolongation of the south line of Lot 6,
Tract 3565;
THENCE east along the westerly prolongation of the south
line of Lot 6, Tract 3565 and the south line of Lot 6,
Tract 3565 to the north right-of-way line of Sherman Avenue;
THENCE east along the north right-of-way line of Sherman
Avenue to the southeasterly lot line of Lot 19, Tract 3565;
THENCE northeasterly along the southeasterly line of Lot
19, Tract 3565 to the west line of Section 11, Township
30 south, Range 27 east, M.D.B.&M.;
THENCE northerly along the west line of Section 11,
Township 30 south, Range 27 east, and the west line of
Section 2, Township 30 south, Range 27 east, M.D.B.&M.,
to intersect the north line of Belle Terrace, said
intersection being a point on the City Limit line;
THENCE easterly and along various courses of the City
Limit line to the Point of Beginning.
SECTION 3.
The City Limit Line referenced in the descriptions of
the various ward boundaries shall be that corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield as of the effective date of this
ordinance.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
