STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends discussion and vote to approve the final draft of the Apple Core Project flyer BACKGROUND: Prior to the weekends of March 12 and March 19, 2023, respectively, donation drive flyers will be distributed to high school campuses within the Kern High School District to advertise the school supply donation drive organized by the Youth Commission during the weekends of March 12 and March 19 at the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.. The donation drive will benefit youth and their families living in motels in Bakersfield. School supplies collected by the Youth Commission during those weekends will be given to the Applecore Project Inc to deliver to teens and families in need. At the January 30, 2023 Special Youth Commission meeting, the Youth Commission voted to table the vote on the final draft of the flyer due to a change in the dates to attend the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market from March 19 and 26 to March 12 and 19. These dates needed to be updated on the flyer prior to final vote for approval.
