HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 3375ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~ ? ~ AN ORi)INANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17.36 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO CHURC~ (CH) ZONING. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 17.36 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Chapter 17.36 CHURCH (CH) ZONE Sections: 17.36.010 17.36.020 17.36.025 17.36.030 Generally. Uses permitted. Uses permitted subject to conditional Site plan review. use permit. 17.36.010 Generally. Land classified in R-l, R-2 and R-3 zones may also be classi- fied as a Ch zone and the restriction set out in this chapter shall apply in the Ch zone unless otherwise provided in this title. 17.36.020 Uses permitted. The following uses are permitted in a Ch zone: A. Churches; B. Sanctuarys; C. Sunday schools; D. Unlighted playfields; E. Any use permitted in the R-l, R-2 and R-3 zones in which the land is classified and when so subject to all of the provi- sions contained in the sections defining the zone; F. Height and yard requirements shall be the same as the other zone in which the land is classified; G. Parking requirements shall be as set forth in Section 17.58; H. Church uses and related development proposed adjacent to property zoned or designated for residential development shall be required to be separated by a solid masonry wall constructed at a minimum height of six (6) feet from highest grade. This require- ment shall not apply along any street frontage. Any wall located within the front yard area shall not exceed a height of four (4) feet. 17.36.025 Uses permitted subject to conditional use permit. The following uses may be permitted subject to a conditional use permit in accordance with the procedures provided in Chapters 17.64 and 17.66 of this title: A. Certified farmers markets. (Ord. 2818 ~ 3, 1983). B. Lighted play fields. C. Day care centers. D. Private schools. 17.36.030 Site plan review. Proposed improvements and the enlargement, reconstruction or renovation of improvements on property in this zone shall be sub- ject to prior site plan review and approval pursuant to Chapter 17.53. SECTION 2.
