Over the past few years„ the City has struggled to recruit and retain a full Youth Commission to represent local students in all areas of the community. While the City receives several applications each year, most are from applicants in City wards that do not have vacancies, or from those who are ineligible to serve on the Youth Commission due to residency requirements that are not met. Additionally, interested students often do not have a full understanding of the purpose of the Youth Commission, the required commitment, and their role representing their peers on behalf of the Bakersfield City Council. 0 calif orma B E A U T I F U L CLEAN Keep California Beautiful (KCB) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting litter pollution prevention, integrated waste management and community improvement programs in California.
