Cal Water is currently purchasing Badger manufactured AMI meters for some applications and therefore, highly recommend the City purchase the same Badger AMI meters for the following reasons: • Consistency with known technology will allow for a seamless transition from direct read to automation. • Badger has over 115 years of experience and a wide range of meters and flow measurement technologies. • Badger Beacon AMI system provides utilities the ability to install AMI on a few critical meters or on an entire meter population, anywhere in the utilities footprint that has cellular coverage. • Benefits of commonly used products such as water meters aid In the operation and maintenance. These benefits include but are not limited to meter reading, meter repairs, AMI technology, and stocking commonly used parts. Over the last year, Cal Water has been installing AMI on our constructions meters. This program has been a great success in reducing the need to track down meters in order to obtain reads on a monthly basis. As I am sure you are aware, this can be a very cumbersome process. I would encourage you to investigate and consider purchasing Badger meters for use in construction applications in order to implement AMI as well. If you would like more information on this program, Cal Water would be happy to provide you with a presentation on our successes. Please let me know if you have any questions. 1SSiin/ncerely, Tamara ,hn`so District anage Quality. Service. Value' calwatec.com > in OR!61NF'c ^O
