A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT A
GRIDLESS SENTRY TOWABLE TRAILER AND
ACCESSORIES CANNOT BE REASONABLY
OBTAINED THROUGH THE USUAL BIDDING
PROCEDURES AND AUTHORIZING THE
FINANCE DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH
BIDDING THEREFORE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $191,000.
WHEREAS, Gridless Power Corporation is the sole manufacturer of Gridless
Sentry, Gridless Sentry Trailer, and various other products and accessories; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department desires to purchase three
Gridless Sentry Trailers and accessories to provide high visibility deterrence of
criminal activity in high crime areas throughout the city; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has determined and has recommended
City Council find, that the purchase of Gridless Sentry Trailers and accessories can
only be reasonably obtained from one vendor, Gridless Power, because of the
manufacturer's designation and has recommended that Council authorize the
finance director to dispense with bidding requirements in accordance with
subsection D.2 of Section 3.20.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein
by reference.
2. The Finance Director or his designee is authorized to dispense with
bidding in accordance with section 3.20.060(D)(2) of the Bakersfield Municipal
Code and to negotiate the purchase of same, in an amount not to exceed
$191,000.00.
3. That the Finance Director or designee is authorized to negotiate and
execute any documents that may be necessary to register with, and purchase
work, supplies, equipment, or materials from the vendors herein.
HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
JUN 14 2023 , by the following vote:
