AN ORDINAN( E OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 1.12.040 AND
SECTION 1.12.060 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO WARD BOUNDARIES (WARDS 4
AND 6). :
WHEREAS, the,Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted Resolution No.
221-91 (Ashe No. 2 AnnexatWn), ordering the territory annexed to the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
required to be within a CounCilmanic Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, thel Council recently completed annexation of the territory to
the City of Bakersfield, the e>lterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit '%"
and as shown in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated as though fully set forth
herein.
NOW, THEREEORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Section 1.12.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
1.12.040 Boundaries of the Fourth Ward. The boundaries
of the Fourth Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of!the City of Bakersfield beginning at the
intersection of the center line of Ming Avenue and the center line of El Portal Drive;
THENCE Southerly along the center line of E1 Portal Drive to the center
line of Laurelglgn Boulevard;
THENCE EastQrly along the center line of Laurelglen Boulevard to the
center line of Hilton Head Way;
THENCE Easterly along the center line of Hilton Head Way to the west
boundary line of Tract 3894;
THENCE Southerly and Easterly along the west boundary line of Tract
3894 to the west boundary line of Tract 4050;
THENCE Southerly along the west boundary line of Tract 4050 to the
center line of North Half Moon Drive;
THENCE Easterly along the center line of North Half Moon Drive to the
center line of Ashe Road;
THENCE Southerly along the center line of Ashe Road and a north-south
prolongation of said center line to the east-west mid section line of Section
28, T. 30 S., R. 27 E., M.D.M.;
THENCE Westerly along said mid section line to the west right of way
line of Ashe Road and a point on the City limit line;
THENCE Westerly along various courses of said City limit line to a point
on the south line of the north 1600 feet of Section 33, Township 29 South,
Range 27 East;
THENCE Easterly along the south line of the north 1600 feet of said
Section 33 to the east line of said Section 33;
THENCE Southerly along the east line of said Section 33 to the center line
of Stockdale highway being the City limit line;
THENCE Easterly and along various courses of the City limit line to the
west boundary line of Tract 3873;
THENCE Southerly along various courses of the west boundary of Tract
3873 to the center line of Ming Avenue;
THENCE Easterly along the center line of Ming Avenue to the center line
of El Portal Drive being the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Section 1.12.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
1.12.060 Boundaries of the Sixth Ward. The boundaries
of the Sixth Ward are hereby amended to read as follows:

center line of Wible Road, said intersection being the east quarter corner

11, Township 30 South, Range 27 East;

Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described
territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the
date of its passage.
