AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION D. OF
SECTION 2.72.130 OF THE BAKERSFIELD
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO NEPOTISM.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsection D. of Section 2.72.130 of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.72.130 Nepotism - Appointment of a relative.
D. For purposes of this chapter, a "relative" is a
parent, step-parent, child, step-child, brother, sister, step-
brother, step-sister, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law,
father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-
in-law, aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew, great-grandparent,
great-grandchild, or any person who lives in the same household as
any regular or probationary city employee.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
