Nearly 60,000 pounds of trash brought to July pop-up
events
The City of Bakers eld's Solid Waste
Division collected nearly 60,000 pounds of
trash and another 2,500 pounds of
recycling at its pop-up large item drop-off
events held Saturday, July 15.
More than 560 resident vehicles visited
the events held at Riverlakes Ranch
Community Center and the parking lot
near Bakers eld Municipal Airport.
In addition to the trash and recycling, 187
mattresses were dropped off, as well as 35 tires and 277 e-waste
items. Another 18,180 pounds of metal was also collected at the two
sites.
The pop-up events are part of Bakers eld's Clean City Initiative and
are made possible thanks to funding from the Public Safety & Vital
Services Measure (PSVS), also known as Measure N.
The City has hosted these events monthly since January 2020 so the
public can get rid of items too large to t in their normal trash bins.

however, was still being built at the time.
