AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1.12.040, 1.12.060
AND 1.12.070 OF THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO WARD BOUNDARIES.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted Resolution No.
115-92 (Calloway No. 4 Annexation) and 116-92 (Wible No. 11 Annexation) on July 1,
1992, and adopted Resolution No. 134-92 (Noriega No. 1 Annexation) and 135-92
(Panama No. 10 Annexation) on July 15, 1992, and adopted Resolution No. 151-92
(Buena Vista No. 5 Annexation) on August 5, 1992, ordering the territory annexed to
the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
is required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to
the City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A"
and as shown in Exhibit "B" for CALLOWAY NO. 4 ANNEXATION, as described in
Exhibit "C" and as shown in Exhibit "D" for WIBLE NO. 11 ANNEXATION, as
described in Exhibit "E" and as shown in Exhibit "F" for NORIEGA NO. 1
ANNEXATION, as described in Exhibit "G" and as shown in Exhibit "H" for PANAMA
NO. 10 ANNEXATION and as described in Exhibit "I" and as shown in Exhibit "J" for
BUENA VISTA NO. 5 ANNEXATION, all attached hereto and incorporated as though
fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Calloway No. 4 Annexation, Noriega No. 1 Annexation and Buena Vista
No. 5 Annexation shall be included in Ward 4. Wible No. 11 Annexation shall be
included in Ward 6 and Panama No. 10 Annexation shall be included in Ward 7.

Section 1.12.060 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
1.12.060 Boundaries of the Sixth Ward. The boundaries of the Sixth Ward are
hereby amended to read as follows:
All that part of the City of Bakersfield beginning at the intersection of the center
line of Ming Avenue and the center line of Hughes Lane, said intersection being
the north quarter corner of Section 12, Township 30 South, Range 27 east;
THENCE Southerly and along said center line of Hughes Lane to the center line
of Wilson Road;
THENCE Westerly along the center line of Wilson Road to intersect the center
line of Wible Road, said intersection being the east quarter corner of Section 11,
Township 30 South, Range 27 East;

of Planz Road, said intersection being the southeast corner of Section 11,
Township 30 South, Range 27 East;
THENCE Westerly along the center line of Planz Road to the west right-of-way

Section 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described
territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the
date of its passage.

Beginning at the point of intersection of the South line of ~he North 30 feet

said point also being a boundary corner on the existing corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield; '
