Vaccines for your furry friends will be available, and microchips are
free to City residents with the purchase of a license.
At the last clinic, held in May, nearly 320 total vaccines were given to
159 dogs.

Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
The Bakers eld Fire and Police Departments will host their annual
9/11 memorial ag ceremony on Monday, Sept. 11. The ceremony
will begin at 8:46 a.m. at Bakers eld Fire Station 15 (1315 Buena
Vista Road).

Rec. & Parks begins efforts to go electric
Looking to meet state regulations by transitioning away from gas-
powered equipment, the City's Recreation & Parks Department has
started introducing electric-powered landscaping equipment into its
arsenal.
The Rec. & Parks Department currently has 40 pieces of battery-
operated equipment, including leaf blowers and trimmers, that are
now in use and being utilized at the City's 60-plus parks.
The City is utilizing the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control
District's Zero Emission Landscape Equipment Voucher program to

Streets Project, which will transform these

Streets strategies.

cycle tracks, and new trees to improve users’ safety and travel.

Striping and concrete work
planned on WB 58 to SB 99
Nighttime closures have been scheduled
for the westbound State Route 58 to
southbound State Route 99 connector. The
closures will take place from Sunday, Sept.
10 through Tuesday, Sept. 12 for striping,
miscellaneous concrete work, and roadway grinding. The closures
will begin at 9 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. California Highway Patrol will be
monitoring the construction zone.
During the closures, westbound motorists will be detoured to
northbound State Route 99. From State Route 99 exit at California
Avenue and turn left/west. Merge right to enter the southbound
State Route 99 on-ramp.
Please note: Construction schedules may be changed without notice
due to unforeseen circumstances. The Thomas Roads Improvement
Program apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause the
traveling public.
SB 99 off-ramp to Ming Avenue to close overnight
A Nighttime closure has been scheduled for the southbound State
Route 99 to Ming Avenue off-ramp. This ramp closure will take place
on Monday, Sept. 11 for the installation of permanent striping. The
closure will begin at 9 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. During the closure,
motorists can exit at the Stockdale Highway off-ramp or White Lane
off-ramp. California Highway Patrol will be monitoring the
construction zone.
Please note: Construction schedules may be changed without notice
due to unforeseen circumstances. The Thomas Roads Improvement
Program apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause the
traveling public.

Spectrum Paci c West, LLC (“Spectrum”), is noticing its customers
that on or around Oct. 2, 2023, City of Taft PEG Channel on
Spectrum Channel 11 will be moved to Channel 14.
Spectrum also announced that starting Aug. 31, 2023, The Walt
Disney Company removed its programming from Spectrum Paci c
West, LLC. Discussions to renew its carriage agreement with The
Walt Disney Company were ongoing when The Walt Disney
Company took this action.
