DEPARTMENT BUDGET PRESENTATIONS
a. Recreation & Parks
Recreation and Parks Director Stan Ford provided a
brief overview, written material and introduced
Recreation Specialist Holly Larson who provided an
overview of special recreation events; Parks
Supervisor Ed Lazaroti who provided the Parks
Division FY 1999/98 accomplishments; Parks
Supervisor Terry McCormick provided Parks Division
FY 1999/2000 Action Plan; and Business Manager
Jane Gardner concluded the presentation.
Rowles requested staff review the possibility of
expanding the park area and greenbelt area at
Yokuts Park.
b. Water
Water Resources Director Florn Core provided an
overview and written material; and introduced Water
Superintendent Pat Hauptman, who provided
Agricultural and Domestic Water highlights.
Mayor Price recessed the meeting at 1:50 p.m. and
reconvened at 1:55 p.m.

Public Works (including Capital Improvement
Program)
Public Works Director Raul Rojas provided an
overview of the Public Works Operating Budget,
provided written material and introduced Civil
Engineer IV Ted Wright who provided the Capital
Improvement Program Budget overview.
Mayor Price requested staff provide him with a copy of
the total number of signalized intersections in the City
and of those, how many are considered major
intersections.
Couch requested staff review the possibility of freezing
the Sewer Connection fees in the Palm/Olive area to the
$1,750 level until the annexation election.
DeMond requested a written response from staff
regarding the issue of removing vehicles from the
streets for street sweeping purposes.
Rowles requested staffre-circulate a memorandum from
City Manager Alan Tandy regarding identifying the funds
generated from Panorama re-mediation, sell of homes.
Maggard requested staff prepare a plan stating a time
period for putting funds aside to cap the landfill and a
plan of how to accomplish this.
ACTIONTAKEN
Mayor Price recessed the meeting at 2:40 p.m. and
reconvened at 2:42 p.m.
Economic and Community Development
Economic Development Director Jake Wager
introduced Business Manager David Chesney who
provided an overview of the proposed budget;
Development Associate Jan Fulton presented
Economic Development accomplishments and
1999/2000 goals; Redevelopment Associate Kade
Duey presented Community Development
accomplishments and 1999/2000 goals; Economic
Development Director Jake Wager concluded the
presentation.
