AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTiON A
OF SECTION 3.40. 020 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE ~.~TING
TO THE TRANSIENT LODGING TAX.
BE IT ORDAIB~ by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsection A of Section 3.40.020 of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
3.40.020 Tax imDosed - Rate - Revenue measure.
A. There is imposed and levied on each and every
transient a tax equivalent to twelve percent (12%) of the total
amount paid for room rental by and for any such transient to any
hotel; which tax shall be collected from the transient at the time
and in the manner provided in Section 3.40.030.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with
provisions of the Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall become
effective on August 1, 1993, or thirty (30) days after the date of
its passage, whichever is later.
