The Fire Department Civil Service Regular Meeting commenced on Monday, December 11,
2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Fire Station # 1.

3. Approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 13, 2023 of the Bakersfield
Fire Department Civil Service Board.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Eaves, seconded by Commissioner George, to approve
with correction of Attendance, the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 13, 2023
of the Fire Department Civil Service Board. APPROVED, ALL AYES.
4. New Business
A. Certification of Fire Engineer (P) #02008, Eligible List
After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner George, seconded by
Commissioner Edmonds to approve staff recommendation, and approve the Certification
of Fire Engineer (P) #02008, Eligible List. APPROVED, ALL AYES.
B. Nepotism Waiver Request for Fire Engineer Candidate(s)
After discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner George, seconded by
Commissioner Edmonds to approve staff recommendation, and approve the Nepotism
Waiver for Fire Engineer Candidates, Dominick Drake, Christopher Mullich, and Taylor
Shaw. APPROVED, ALL AYES
5. Commissioner Statements
Commissioner Edmonds thanked Commissioner Eaves for his years of service on the Fire
Civil Service Board and best of luck in his retirement.
Chief Frando presented Commissioner Eaves with a Service Plaque for 17 years of service
on the Board.
6. Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Board, Chair Ronald Eaves adjourned
the meeting at 3:08 p.m.
