A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION PROPOSING
PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO.
719, GENERALLY LOCATED WEST OF VINELAND ROAD,
NORTH OF PIONEER DRIVE (WARD 3).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a change of organization, to
wit, the annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the hereinafter -described territory,
pursuant to Section 56654 of the Government Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation territory is within and consistent with the City
of Bakersfield Sphere of Influence boundary; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield agrees to annex the territory generally located
west of Vineland Road, north of Pioneer Drive; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to serve the territory upon annexation; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that it
hereby finds and determines as follows:
The above recitals, incorporated herein, are true and correct.
2. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the territory in Exhibit A and shown on map marked Exhibit B
for the project attached hereto, and made a part of this resolution as
though fully set forth herein, generally located west of Vineland Road, north
of Pioneer Drive.
3. That a plan for providing services within the affected territory of the
proposed annexation, in accordance with the provisions of Section 56653
of the Government Code, is marked as Exhibit C, attached hereto and
made a part hereof as though fully set forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to wit, annexation, is made
pursuant to the Cortese -Knox -Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization
Act of 2000, and it is requested that proceedings be authorized for
annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization are to provide
additional lands to accommodate the City's 6th cycle vacant sites
inventory as part of the California state -mandated Housing Element
Update.
6. That the laws and regulations relating to the preparation of a notice of
exemption as set forth in the California Environmental Quality Act have
been duly followed.

7. That the territory proposed for annexation as described herein has been
determined to be uninhabited pursuant to Section 56046 of the
Government Code.
8. That the territory proposed for annexation as described herein is within the
City of Bakersfield Sphere of Influence boundary.
9. That this proposed annexation territory will be incorporated into Ward 3 and
the boundaries will be adopted by Ordinance within Bakersfield Municipal
Code Chapter 1.12 (Wards).
10. That the names of the officers of the City of Bakersfield who are to be
furnished with copies of the Executive Officer's Report and who are to be
given mailed Notice of Hearing, if any, are:

Annexation 719 Pioneer No. 1 Annexation to the City of Bakersfield
GEOGRAPHIC DESCRIPTION
All that certain property, situated in Section 30, in Township 29 South, Range 29 East, Mount Diablo Base and
Meridian, in the County of Kern, State of California, being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of said Section 30, said point being an angle point on the City of
Bakersfield City Limits; thence
1) North 89° 46' 30" West, along the south line of said Section 30 and leaving the City of Bakersfield City
Limits, a distance of 660.86 feet to the southeast corner of Parcel 2 of Parcel Map No. 3400 recorded
in Book 16 of Parcel Maps at Page 85, Kern County Records; thence
2) North 00- 36' 59" East, along the east line of said Parcel 2, a distance of 1325.19 feet to the northeast
corner of said Parcel 2; thence
3) South 89° 47' 08" East, a distance of 661.32 feet to the east line of said Section 30 and the City of
Bakersfield City Limits; thence
4) South 00° 38' 10" West, along the east line of said Section 30, and along the Bakersfield City Limits, a
distance of 1325.32 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
