1. ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Bell, Vargas (A), Tarango, Resolme, Taft (A), Simpson,
seated at 4:39 p.m.), Pursel (A), Beardsley (seated at
4:32 p.m.), Kakarla, Brar (A), Webster, Nahama (A), Tran
(A)seated at 4:41 p.m.), Batth

3. SUMMARY REPORT
a. Adoption of the December 12, 2022 Youth Commission minutes.
Motion to approve the minutes from the December 72, 2022 meeting by
Commissioner Beardsley, seconded by Commissioner Resolme. Motion
passed unanimously.
4. NEW BUSINESS
a. Discussion and vote to approve the March 19 and March 26, 2023 dates for
the Youth Commission annual project at the Haggin Oaks Farmers Market
Motion to change the dates of the donation drive at the Haggin Oaks Famers
Market from March 19 and March 26, to March 12 and March 79, by
Commissioner Resolme, seconded by Commissioner Batth. Motion passed
unanimously.
b. Discussion and vote on the final draft of the Apple Core Project flyer to be
distributed to school sites within the Kern High School District prior to the
weekends of March 19 and March 26, 2023.
Item was tabled until next meeting.
C. Continue discussion regarding collaborating with Applecore Project Inc to
plan the annual Youth Commission project to include a donation drive to
collect school supplies to support families and teens living in local motels.
5. STAFF COMMENTS
Management Assistant Gutierrez made staff comments.
6. COMMISSION COMMENTS
Commissioner Bell requested staff attend the next meeting to help with advertising
the event.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
