3. SUMMARY REPORT
a. Adoption of the January 30, 2023 Special Youth Commission Meeting
Minutes.
Item was tabled until next meeting.
4. NEW BUSINESS
a. Presentation by Ray Scott of the Keep Bakersfield Beautiful Committee
regarding the 2023 Great American Cleanup, including the Mayor's High
School Challenge on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Item was tabled.
b. Discussion and vote on the final draft of the Applecore Project flyer to be
distributed to school sites within the Kern High School District prior to the
weekends of March 12 and March 19, 2023.
4. NEW BUSINESS continued
Motion to approve the flyer by Commissioner Tarango, seconded by
Commissioner Webster. Motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Pursel requested flyers to pass out at the farmer's market.
C. Continue discussion regarding collaborating with Applecore Project Inc to plan
the annual Youth Commission project to include a donation drive to collect
school supplies to support families and teens living in local motels.
Management Assistant Gutierrez will send an email out to remind the
Commissioners of their scheduled times and where the booth will be located at.
5. STAFF COMMENTS
Management Assistant Gutierrez made staff comments.
6. COMMISSION COMMENTS
Commissioners Bell requested the City print out the flyers for the donation drive.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 4:58 p.m.
