The sidewalk improvements come weeks after two new shade and swing structures were installed at the Kroll Park playground. Both projects were made possible thanks to the Public Safety & Vital Services Measure (Measure N). Following the motor competition at the Park at River Walk, BPD donated $2,500 to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Kern County. The donation came from a portion of the proceeds raised at the competition. On hand for the presentation were Bakerseld Mayor Karen Goh, Vice Mayor Andrae Gonzales (Ward 2), the City's Park Rangers and members of KBB. Following the presentation, a litter cleanup was held, where 35 trash bags were lled. Keep Bakerseld Beautiful seeking sponsors for 2024 Great American Cleanup The 21st Annual Great American Cleanup with Keep Bakerseld Beautiful and 3rd Annual Mayor's Great American Cleanup High School Challenge are scheduled for Saturday, April 27. Request For Qualications released seeking support for General Plan Update The City of Bakerseld has released a Request For Qualications (RFQ) from Community-Based Organizations (CBO) to support and conduct community outreach and engagement related to the Bakerseld 2045 General Plan Update project. The City will partner with up to four CBOs through a contract agreement not to exceed $5,000 each, for a total of $20,000.
