A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY
EXEMPT SURPLUS LAND AND SURPLUS TO THE
NEEDS OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE ITS SALE
WHEREAS, the City purchased fee simple interest in the six properties
located at 195 South Garnsey Avenue (APN 149-221-21), 3201 Mona Way (149-
250-42), 601 Alamo Street (149-250-43), 627 Alamo Street (APN 149-250-47), 619
Alamo Street (APN 149-250-48), and 611 Alamo Street (APN 149-250-49) as part
of the Centennial Corridor project; and,
WHEREAS, the City has completed the project improvements on each of
these parcels which has created four remnant parcels ("Properties") more
particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A 1 's'' and depicted in the
attached Exhibit "A'2's", and
WHEREAS, City desires to sell each of the remnant Properties; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Planning Department found the sale of this
property to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan
pursuant to Government Code Section 65402; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 54221(f) (1) (C), the
Property is exempt surplus land as each of the individual remnant properties are
in agreements to be exchanged for other property necessary for the City's use;
and
WHEREAS, Bakersfield Municipal Code 3.20.125 authorizes the negotiated
sale of City property deemed to be "surplus" in accordance with Government
code Section 54220 et seq.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct, and incorporated
herein.
2. Pursuant to Government Code Section 54221(f) (1) (C), the Properties
are "Exempt Surplus" land.

3. The Property is hereby declared surplus to the City's needs, and the
City Manager is authorized to exchange the Property for another property
necessary for the City's use.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof
