AN ORDINANCE ADDING THE CHESTER NO. 3
ANNEXATION TO WARD 2.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution on June
25, 1997, for the CHESTER NO. 3 ANNEXATION, ordering the territory annexed to the
City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield is
required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to the
City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" and as
shown in Exhibit "B" for CHESTER NO. 3 ANNEXATION attached hereto and incorporated
as though fully set forth herein. The Ward Boundary description as described in Exhibit "C",
shall be amended to reflect the above, as attached hereto and incorporated as though fully set
forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Chester No. 3 Annexation shall be included in Ward 2.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal
Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the
City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

A parcel of land consisting of portions of Sections 13 and 24, Township 29 South. Range 27 East,
M.D.B. & M., Sections 18 and 19, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B. & M., County of
Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the southwest comer of said Section 18, said comer being established by a "6 inch
round concrete monument, 16 inches deep", said comer being designated as 692,146.518 feet North,
1,695,919.512 feet East per California Coordinate System, Zone 5;
Thence North 01° 32' 11" East along the west line of said Section 18, a distance of 333.27 feet to a
point on the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield and TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING;
Thence (1) easterly, southeasterly, westerly, northerly and easterly, on and along said existing
corporate boundary (circumventing the enclosed county territory) returning to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING.

second ward are amended to read as follows:
All that part of the city of Bakersfield beginning at the intersection of the
centerline of California Avenue with the centerline of Oak Street;
Thence easterly along the centerline of California Avenue to intersect the
northerly prolongation of the centerline of Pine Street;
Thence northerly along the northerly prolongation of the centerline of Pine
Street and the centerline of Truxtun Avenue;
Thence westerly along the centerline of Truxtun Avenue to the centerline of
Myrtle Street;
Thence northerly along the centerline of Myrtle Street to the centerline of
24th Street;
Thence westerly along the centerline of 24th Street to intersect the southerly
prolongation of the centerline of the north-south twenty foot alley adjacent
