Rec. & Parks set for National Water Safety Month
Did you know drowning is the single leading cause of death for
children, according to the National Drowning Prevention Alliance?
But, by raising awareness about water safety measures and best
practices, we can help prevent drowning incidents and save lives.
May is National Water Safety Awareness Month, and to
commemorate it, the City of Bakers eld's Recreation & Parks
Department will be providing safe water practices throughout the
month on its social media platforms.
The community will be able to access videos, checklists, and fun
family activities through our Recreation and Parks Facebook page.
There will be two contests that will allow the winners to receive a
Recreational Family Swim Pass for this upcoming summer season
opening Tuesday, June 4.
Anyone interested can also apply for discounted swim lessons, which
are possible thanks to a grant from First 5 Kern.
Do your part and be water smart!
