AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14.12.390 OF THE
BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO SEWER
CONNECTION FEES.
SECTION 1.
Section 14.12.390 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to add
subsection B and renumber current subsection B to subsection C.
14.12.390 Payment requirements
B. In cases of economic hardship, as determined by the City Council or its
designee, the City may enter into an agreement with the property owner of a single family
residence to allow said owner to pay the sewer connection fee together with interest on
the unpaid balance at the legal rate, through the property owner's property tax bill over a
period not to exceed three (3) years. Said cost shall be considered a lien on the owner's
property upon which the connection was made. The agreement shall require an indemnity
from the property owner to protect the City.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the provisions of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective thirty (30) days from and after the passage.
