AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION 1.12.020 BY ADDING ANNEXATION NO. 721 TO WARD 2.
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) adopted a
resolution for Annexation No. 721 recently ordering the territories annexed to the City of
Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territories ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield
are required to be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the LAFCo recently completed the annexation for the territories
to the City of Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of Annexation No. 721 which is shown
on the maps in Exhibits B and described in the attached Exhibits A, attached hereto and
incorporated as though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct
Section 2.
Annexation No. 721 shall be included in Ward 2.
Section 3.
Section 1.12.020 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended by
adding thereto the legal description set forth in Exhibit A.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield
Municipal Code and shall become effective upon the annexation of the above -
described territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less than thirty (30) days from and
after the date of its passage.
