3. Adoption of the October 26, 2023, Regular Agenda Summary Report.
(Staff recommends adoption of the minutes.)
Motion by Councilmember Gray to adopt the October 26, 2023, Regular Agenda Summary
Report. Motion approved with Councilmember Kaur absent.
4. REPORTS
a. Presentation to Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods Committee from Recreation and Parks
Department Park Rangers.
(Staff recommends receive and file Presentation.)
Park Ranger Manager Owens provided an update and PowerPoint Presentation.
City Attorney to bring back red -lined ordinance adding the Park Rangers to the
Municipal Code and research types of citations.
Motion by Councilmember Arias to receive and file report. Motion approved with
Councilmember Kaur absent.
4. REPORTS continued
b. Presentation on City's California Violence Intervention and Prevention Program
(Staff recommends receive and file Presentation.)
Assistant to the City Manager Rubio provided an update and PowerPoint Presentation.
Chief Stratton provided additional updates and PowerPoint Presentation.
Motion by Councilmember Gray to receive and file report. Motion approved with
Councilmember Kaur absent.
5. DEFERRED BUSINESS
a. Park Rangers Update
(Staff recommends receive and file.)
Deputy City Attorney Gallardo-King provided staff update.
Park Ranger Manger Owens provided additional comments.
Motion by Councilmember Gray to receive and file report. Motion approved with
Councilmember Kaur absent.
NEW BUSINESS
None.
7. COMMITTEE COMMENTS
Councilmembers Gray and Arias expressed appreciation to staff for an informative
meeting.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 1:57 p.m.
