A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE ITS SALE WHEREAS, in 1982 the City acquired approximately 36,590 square feet described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto for a water well site; and, WHEREAS, The Mehmet Noyan Company on behalf of Downey Savings & Loan, the adjoining property owner, has requested the City sell a portion of its property described in Exhibit "B" to allow them to construct a highway sign to facilitate the development of its property; and, WHEREAS, The City Manager has found the real property is no longer needed by the City, and; WHEREAS, on July 18, 1996, the Planning Commission found the sale of this property to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan pursuant to Government Code Section 65402. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct and incorporated herein. Real property located on the north side of Burr Street approximately 1000 feet east of Gibson Street is hereby declared surplus and the Finance Director is authorized to negotiate the sale of the property more fully described in Exhibit "B" attached hereto.
